Shirdi Temple Complex - Places to visit around and in Saibaba Temple

Shirdi is a small town in Maharasthra around 296 kilometers away from Mumbai city in India. Where there is a temple of great spiritual guru “Saibaba” which was established in 1922. In 1998-99 the same temple was reconstructed with more renowned way with facility like Darshan lane, Prasadalay (Lunch & Dinner), Donation counters, Prasad counters, canteen, Railway reservation counter, Book stall, Saibaba museum, Udhi counter etc.  The temple premise is spread nearby200 sq.mtrs.


Thousands of Sai Baba devotees from all over the world come to have the Darshan of great saint “shri saibaba”. If we see in numbers daily almost 25000 devotes come to visit shirdi and during the festival seasons more than 100,000 devotees visit temple. Places to visit around and in shirdi temple:

Khanoba Mandir
Khanoba mandir is the heart of the shirdi as khanoba temple is the place where saibaba stayed for the first time when baba steps in to shirdi for the first time with the wedding party. Mhalsapati who was the temple priest, gretted saibaba with the name “ya sai!” which mean welcome Sai. This temple is located at the main road and banyan tree is there at the entrance where the Sai bullock cart halted.

Gurursthan Mandir
“Gurusthan” itself mean the place of the guru. This is the place where baba spends most of his time when he entered into the shirdi and meditates. Also as per Saibaba this is the place of baba own guru.

Samadhi Mandir
On 18 October 1918 on Tuesday Baba took the Samadhi and this is the place where Baba body is resting in Samadhi. This is the place where all the day to day Puja, Arti is performed. One gets the mental peace just entering into the Samadhi Mandir. The Samadhi is built with white marble stones and Baba’s statue is made up of Italian marble. The Mandir is so pure that one can feel the presence of Baba in the Mandir.

Dwarkamai
Dwarkamai is the place where Sai Baba was there till the very end of his life. Here Baba lit the fire and used to solve the problems of devotee and used to give the Udi (ash) to their devotee in order to heal their problems.

Chavadi
Chavadi is the place where Saibaba used to go to sleep and used to visit the same frequently. There is a wooden bed where Baba used to sleep but in that room women’s are not allowed to enter.

Legend garden
This garden is the place where Baba used to come every day and used to give water in garden. Baba also lit lamp which was placed between two tress Saibaba planted which later on known as Nanda Deep.
